Burgers, Fish, and Magazines

It's about that time of the semester--yes, the time when all of the assignments and exams begin stacking on top of each other. Stephanie and I decided to take a break and celebrate the end of the month on Friday with a burger night. We went to Carl's Jr. and enjoyed some good cheeseburgers there, and then watched Heather while she bullied the 18- to 24-month old kids in the play place. We stopped by Wendy's for chocolate frostees on the way home. It was a nice treat and a fun family date.

After coming home and putting Heather to bed, Stephanie and I continued our family date with a movie (Finding Nemo). During the movie, we gathered all of our magazines, clipped out words and pictures, and made collages for each other. I was kind of skeptical about the idea at first, but it ended up being lots of fun. We recommend it for a cheap, laid-back date idea.

We love you all and hope you have a wonderful week. We're also looking forward to getting together with the whole Standage crew this spring! We can't wait!

Snow Day!

Heather and Mommy had lots of fun in the snow today! Here are some pictures:

Heather LOVES being outside!

Heather had a hard time learning to pick snow up with her mittens. She eventually just put her head in the snow to see if she could eat it that way.

Mommy finally helped

Heather ate so much snow! Mommy even had some too.

Basketball Game

Well, school started again...it is already a challenging semester for both of us, but we will be done in 3 months and 5 days! We are so excited. Daniel was able to get his honors portfolio submitted on time (barely) and that was a miracle because originally he was going to wait until June to graduate...which meant a later deadline for the honors portfolio. We changed plans right before Christmas break, and decided to graduate in April. He got it all in on time, and it looks like we are right on track!

Daniel was gone 5 days last week. He went to California for a conference. Heather and I missed him a lot! It was nice to not have to worry about cooking though...Heather and I had leftovers pretty much the whole time (with the exception of one or two nights). I have been busy with my research. I have interviewed three girls, and am working on transcribing the interviews. I love this research and I am glad that I have such a supportive and encouraging husband who was the one that helped me decide that it was worth it.

Heather is walking now. Our house has become much more messy because of it. I can't keep anything put away! She loves exploring and is always busy. She is growing up so fast, and has such a cute personality. Here are some pictures:

Here's what I mean about a cute personality:

We went to the basketball game last night. It was a lot of fun. Heather enjoyed it, and clapped at all the right places. We won 91-47!! Go COUGARS!!!

We hope that you all are having a great new year! We love you!
