Summer vacation: Atlanta!

After Savannah and the beach, we went to Atlanta to visit some friends. We spent most of our days in Atlanta relaxing and enjoying each others company.  We stayed up way to late at night, and had lots of laughs! We went to the Zoo one day, and to Stone Mountain another day. (PS. How did I live in GA for all that time and never go to Stone Mountain??) It was so great to see Daniel visiting with his friends from high school and for us (especially me) to get to know their wives.  We had so much fun! For some unknown reason, we totally spaced on getting a photo of Daniel with his friends. We got plenty of the kids though!

Atlanta Zoo:

Telling us how huge the gorilla was...and a little scary.

Note: I was not zoomed in! This guy was high enough and close enough that he could totally jump over the fence and terrorize us if he wanted to. Luckily he didn't!

Tired much?

The ONE AND ONLY photo we got of Robert and his baby Faustina.

SO excited to be on a train! (This photo doesn't even begin to capture the excitement.)

Waiting for the light show to start.

Summer Vacation: The Beach!

We haven't been to the beach since Heather was causing a great upheaval in my poor little body. Who knew such a small (not even as big as a penny) creature could make someone's life so miserable! I am talking of course of morning sickness. So our last time at the beach I spent most of the time lying on the beach wishing I could get up and play, but knowing if I did, I would lose my breakfast. This time? We had so much more fun! I did not have the luxury of lying on the beach, but I don't regret it one bit. :) The kids needed every bit of our attention. And they had SO much fun! Daniel and I did too! Here are some of our favorite photos.

Our little digger is ready to go!

Racing to get into the water!

One of my first successful "selfies." Be proud. :)

Heather had as much fun in the sand as she did in the water!

Proud of her work.

On our second day, we sat out a torrential downpour (no lightning or thunder...don't worry mom!). Since we were already wet, no one seemed to mind too much. It was so beautiful.

Build the LAST sandcastle.

Summer Vacation: Savannah

We recently returned home from a very nice vacation to Georgia. We had a blast! We went to Savannah first, and started off by doing the River walk after we arrived in the evening. It was a great way to stretch our legs after 12 hours in the car. The next day we did a self-guided walking tour. We had a great time learning about the history of Savannah and seeing all the old and incredibly beautiful sites. Also, the weather was perfect, and the kids were great sports. We couldn't have had it better!

...And all the photos are gone from this post. I've been working on it for a few days! I'm a little angry right now. Grr... Sometimes I hate blogger. So I will re-post the photos, but I am not going to re-add the captions...sorry. I just don't have that kind of time.

River Walk (sorry the photos are so dark...it was getting dark when we got there):
