Christmas in Colorado

After an exhilarating drive across I-80 last weekend, we are safe here in Colorado Springs with the Colemans (Colemen, Colepersons to be politically correct I guess). Anyway, we have had a great Christmas break so far. Dad sent a DVD all the way from Iraq to narrate our Nativity reenactment, we had dinner with relatives on Christmas day, and have enjoyed racquetball, ice skating, and all kinds of games and movies.

Today, Stephanie and I made a little addition to our kitchen set. We found two musical fabric patterns at Wal-Mart and made some reversible aprons. I have sewed about a grand total of 45 minutes up to this point in my life, so this was a great accomplishment for me (I did my apron all by myself!). Anyway, they look great and we're excited to give them a try in the kitchen!

Cleaning and the blues

Well, it looks like Daniel already told you about our adventures with Indiana Jones last night. That was a great experience. In fact, today in Sunday school someone mentioned the ark of the covenant, and I just couldn't get the scene out of my head when the Nazi army opened the ark...not exactly what I wanted to be thinking about during Sunday school. Apparently Dan was having similar thoughts.

You may be wondering about the title to this blog. This is the story. Yesterday I was really stressed out for the obvious reason of school drawing to a close. After finishing the last of three papers that are due next week, I came home and started cleaning. Our house doesn't really look any different, but I think that is due to how clean we usually have it. Even though I couldn't really tell much of a difference, I felt a huge difference. I felt a lot less stressed after cleaning the house. So I guess that means to ward off stress I should clean more. I am very glad to have made that important discovery. Please remind me about this discovery if I ever forget!

Indiana Jones

We had a great day today. We went to the temple in the morning, I got a chance to do some cooking for lunch, and we just had a few productive hours doing some work/homework here at the Wymount computer lab. But the day is about to get a lot better!

I make a lot of references to Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and Stephanie has not seen the movie. I kept on making references, and kept on forgetting she has not seen it. Finally, the other day someone else made a reference to Indiana Jones and Stephanie decided that she needs to see it. Tonight is that night!

The third movie in the series (The Last Crusade) is by far my favorite. However, the first movie (Raiders of the Lost Ark) provides a lot of context for the third one, so we are going to watch the first and third one tonight. We don't have time to watch all three tonight, and since the Temple of Doom is a bit weird, we don't mind skipping over that one.
