Easter this year was really amazing! Daniel and I both got jackets, and Heather got the cute red outfit you see modeled here. We got Heather all dressed up, so she could model it for us...and then we had the idea of putting her in the Easter basket...she was ok with that, but this was the best smile we could get out of her. She is growing up so fast. She is constantly making more noises and she smiles SO much! We are so blessed to have her in our home.
I have reflected a lot on the atonement the past weeks, and this Easter was a very special experience for me. With all the pains of childbirth and nursing (ouch!), I have thought a lot about how Christ was perfect yet he went through all the temptations, afflictions, and the incredible pains that he did so that he could succor us in our time of need (Alma 7). I have thought about how much love he must have for us because of all of that pain. Even though I am nowhere near perfect, I think that I understand him a little better. I know that because of the pain I went through for Heather, I love her more than anything in the world, and I would do anything for her. I can succor her in her time of need because of the immense love that I have for her. I know that Christ feels the same way about us, but on a much grander scale. I am so grateful for Christ and the atonement that was made for us. How wonderful it is that we have someone who would suffer on our behalf. We are so blessed. I am also grateful that he died and rose again so that we can return to Him. I guess what I am trying to say is, I now know more than ever that our Redeemer lives, understands what we are going through, and most of all, he loves us more than we can imagine!
